 • Introduction to the training centre and health and safety, good practise and basic rules of tiling.
• Getting to know your tool kit how to use the tools and their specific uses for tile installation
• Information on how to prepare the surfaces for the tiling install using adhesives, grouts and related products and how to apply the expected industry procedures
• Manual tile cutting techniques, using nippers, and machine tile cutting techniques and how to set out the tiles.
• Then onto basic 4 metre squared levelling in exercise after this a kitchen is set up and your first full installation of tiles, adhesive, trim and grout over multiple vertical and horizonatal surfaces. Producing a balanced install with all the basic elements of tiling included.
• The second week will cover the method for estimating, techniques, setting out and laying of a square floor and 45 degree floor installation including measuring, marking and then cutting and completing an install using adhesives, grout and related products.
• Learn how to tile around a square and a circle.
• Tile a 3 sided shower cubicle.
• Tile around a window.
• There will be a business start-up seminar, how to start your business, advertising and marketing obtaining work together with your legal responsibilities as a self-employed tradesperson.
