Martin Poole Sept 2006
I took an 8-week course at The Master Tiling School in 2006. I had been in the army for 22 years and wanted a trade that would earn me money once I left. A Friend of mine did a 6 weeks course at another tiling school and told me that 6 weeks was just enough time to learn the very minimum and if I wanted to become a professional tile fixer I should hunt around for a longer course that would give me more experience.

The Course at The Master Tiling School gave me the confidence to be a professional fixer and since completing my course in September 2006 I have worked on many new home developments around the country such as Bellway homes.

I am currently in the final stages of my NVQ. I have taken photos of all the work I have completed since being at the school and also kept a photo diary of all the projects that I completed while I was training which has really impressed my NVQ assessor.

Since I have become a tile fixer I have not looked back. I face different projects every day and I have never stopped learning. I understand that to be the best I can be I need to diversify my talents and keep up to date with the latest trends in the industry which means my job is never boring or repetitive. In the future I would like to own my own tile fixing company and take on more domestic projects once I have built a strong reputation.
